While You're Up is a community focused micro-bakery that provides hand-made, small batch breads and baked goods. The bakery has a focus on locally grown grain and ingredients to support the farmers within the region while providing delicious, mouth watering treats. We specialize in handmade bagels, liege waffles and seasonal treats.

Oona is a self-taught baker with an obsession for all things sourdough. Her journey began when she took a sourdough-making class in Los Angeles in 2019 where she then started baking for friends and colleagues. Oona ran a successful micro-bakery from her Los Angeles apartment providing fresh bread delivery across the region and partnering with local businesses to host pop-up events and local pick-ups.

After moving to North Carolina in 2021, Oona and her husband, Matt, began attending the Carrboro Farmers Market as patrons, and eventually began selling at Wednesday markets. You can now find While You’re Up at the market three Saturdays a month, and on the occasional Wednesday. Stay tuned with the Carrboro Farmers Market Newsletter to see when we’ll be at market!

While You’re Up attends the Saturday Market and some Wednesday markets through Spring, early Summer, Fall, and Winter.
