Graham, NC - Peregrine Farm is perched on the hills above the Haw River, in the Eli Whitney community of Alamance county. Since 1981 their intent has been to grow the finest cut flowers, small fruit and vegetables for the Triangle market. Today Alex and Betsy Hitt are raising crops on 4 acres of their 26. Their production is fairly evenly split down the middle with Betsy running the cut flower half of the farm and Alex managing the vegetable side, and they do have a quarter acre of the best blueberries on the planet.
Peregrine Farm sells at the Wednesday and Saturday Markets.
Growing Practices: developing a sustainable farming system using the most environmentally responsible methods and materials has been a guiding principle from the beginning including the use of organic fertilizers and pest controls, cover crops and extensive crop rotations.
