Market Rules

The Carrboro Farmers' Market is…

  • Farmer Run - The Market is a membership organization, and the farmers and artisans run the Market. The Market membership meets annually to approve Market rule changes and elect a Board of Directors to handle week to week decisions. The Directors are all farmers and artisan members of the Market, and they meet monthly.

  • Producer Only - Everything sold at Market must be grown or produced by the farmers and artisans. The Board of Directors regularly inspects farm businesses to ensure integrity.

  • All Local - All of the sellers at Market live and produce their goods within 50 miles of Market. In fact, the average distance that food travels to Market is just 25 miles! That is as local as it gets!
