2009 Chef's Event

7 of the greatest chefs from 7 of the Triangle's top restaurants were featured in the gazebo with dishes they prepared for us to taste, all made from local ingredients found at the Farmers Market. All the chefs served "Blue Plate Special" style food, which traditionally refers to low-priced meals that feature a meat and two vegetables. Not all our chefs served meat, with dishes for vegetarians to taste as well. As we moved around the gazebo, we met the chefs, had a small taste of each featured dish, and picked up recipes to take home and try yourself! Recipes of every dish can be found below. Our chefs play a big role in supporting our farmers and educating our community. "Chefs Who Shop the Carrboro Farmers' Market" is a celebration of our local farms and locally-owned restaurants.
