Rose Shepherd Pickled Peaches Demo |
Wednesday, September 7 - Rose Shepherd from Blessed Earth Farm taught how to pickle peaches and pears using the cold packing and steam canning methods. Ever tasted pickled peaches? How about pickled pears? Pickled peaches and pears are long-time Southern favorite foods that go great paired with cheeses or as a sweet glaze for chicken or pork!
Participants learned the whole pickling process from peeling fresh fruit to walking home with their own jar of pickled fruit, recipes, coupons, and goodies from the Ball Canning Company.
