April McGregor Apple Butter Canning Demo |
Wednesday, August 17 featured local apples, ripe and ready. August offers many great opportunities to indulge in the fruit! Our canning series continued with the much anticipated return of April McGregor of Farmer’s Daughter! She demonstrated how to make homemade applesauce from local southern heirloom apple varieties and gave tips to turn that applesauce into apple butter to enjoy all winter long! The workshops are open to the public and are held at 3:30 and at 5:00pm in the market gazebo. Cost is $10/person, and proceeds from this workshop will benefit the Human Right Center. Space is limited, but all community members are invited to observe.
