A Community Canning Series
We learned how to capture that exquisite taste and enjoy tomatoes year round in a Basic Tomato Canning Workshop on Wednesday, July 13th. As part of the "Year Round Food: Community Canning Series," The Carrboro Farmers' Market's own Farmer's Daughter, April McGregor, demonstrated how to easily peel, pack, and water bath can tomatoes. Sh even gave tips for safely canning your favorite heirloom tomatoes. April also taught a basic pickling cucumber class geared toward kids from 5:30-6:30.
